GRASSROOTS 

The most powerful way to share our message with elected officials is from the ground up—through grassroots advocacy. While RIHCA has both staff and contract lobbyists who represent our members at the State House, lawmakers are most influenced when they hear directly from the people who live and work in the long-term care community.

 

Throughout the year, we will invite our members to participate in advocacy efforts such as:

 

  • Hosting local legislators in your facilities

  • Sending postcards and making phone calls

  • Engaging with legislators on social media

  • Sharing personal stories that highlight the importance of quality long-term care

 

Your voice makes a difference. By taking part in these grassroots efforts, you help ensure that policymakers understand the critical role of long-term care providers in Rhode Island. Together, we can strengthen our message and advance the priorities that matter most to our members, staff, residents, and their families.
